Scott Thompson to Star in Toronto Beauty and the Beast

Scott Thompson, best known for his work in the television series Kids in the Hall, will star in Beauty and the Beast, The Savagely Silly Family Musical, to be presented at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre, November 25-January 2, with an opening night on December 2. Ted Dykstra will direct, with choreography by Tracey Flye.
The production, which is not the Disney version of the story, features a book by Lorna Wright and Nicholas Hune-Brown, with music direction by Mark Camilleri.
Thompson will play the cross-dressed role of The Dame, and will be joined by Ross Petty (Barnum von Cowell), Degrassi’s Jake Epstein (Prince Edgar/Beast), and Melissa O’Neil (Beauty).
