Broadway veteran Eden Espinosa will play the title role in an open to the public workshop presentation of the new musical Loulou the Acrobat, at The Banff Centre in Canada, July 17 and 18 at 2pm.

The musical features a score by Marc Jordan, Amy Sky, Steve Mackinnon, with book by Quincy Long. Kelly Robinson will direct, with musical direction by Ian Eisendrath.

In the piece, a tortured prisoner discovers, among the banal obscenities scratched into the wall of his cell, an unusual pronouncement: ‘I will always love Loulou the acrobat.’ He conjures a vision of Loulou that becomes his only solace, and, after his escape from prison, his quest. He’s led to the circus, and to a woman with her own dreams, desires and thwarted ambitions.

The cast will also feature Peter Crook, Brandon O’Neill, David Pichette, Adam Brazier, and Nicole Shalhoub.

Espinosa’s Broadway roles include Elphaba in Wicked (also in L.A. and the national tour), Maureen in Rent, and originating the title role in Brooklyn: The Musical.

Tickets to the workshop are $10. To purchase or for more information, call 800-413-8368 or visit
