Jimmy Buffett and More Escape to Margaritaville on Broadway Opening Night

Jimmy Buffett's Broadway musical Escape to Margaritaville toasted its opening night on March 15 at the Marquis Theatre. Following the performance, the company and their guests headed to Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers with a license to chill and celebrate.

Paul Alexander Nolan heads the cast as Tully alongside Alison Luff as Rachel, Lisa Howard as Tammy, Eric Petersen as Brick, Rema Webb as Marley, Don Sparks as J.D., and Andre Ward as Jamal. Featured in the ensemble are Matt Allen, Tessa Alves, Sara Andreas, Marjorie Failoni, Samantha Farrow, Steven Good, Angela Grovey, Albert Guerzon, Keely Hutton, Justin Keats, Mike Millan, Justin Mortelliti, Ryann Redmond, Ian Michael Stuart, and Brett Thiele.

Escape to Margaritaville is described as a "musical comedy getaway featuring both original songs and Jimmy Buffett classics," including "Come Monday," "Volcano," "Cheeseburger in Paradise," and more. With a book by Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia and Emmy Award nominee Mike O'Malley, the new production is choreographed by Kelly Devine and directed by Tony Award winner and La Jolla Playhouse artistic director Christopher Ashley.

The creative team includes scenic designer Walt Spangler, costume designer Paul Tazewell, lighting designer Howell Binkley, sound designer Brian Ronan, and Christopher Jahnke as music supervisor.

Prior to its New York run, a tryout touring engagement played the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans (October 20-28), the Hobby Center in Houston (October 31-November 5), and the Oriental Theatre in Chicago (November 9-December 2). It had its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse.
