It Shoulda Been You, the new Broadway musical by Brian Hargrove and Barbara Anselmi, celebrated its opening night at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 14. The musical began previews March 17 after a 2011 run at the George Street Playhouse.

Directed by Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, It Shoulda Been You is described as "a culture clash for the ages" that follows two families who come together to celebrate a wedding. Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Sierra Boggess, David Burtka, Lisa Howard, and Edward Hibbert lead the cast, alongside Montego Glover, Josh Grisetti, Michael X. Martin, Anne L. Nathan, Nick Spangler, and Chip Zien.

Guests at the opening-night festivities at the Edison Ballroom included David Hyde Pierce's Frasier costars Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin; The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies; talk-show host Kelly Ripa; Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris (supporting his hubby, David Burtka); Sierra Boggess' Little Mermaid costars Sherie Rene Scott, Tituss Burgess, and Sean Palmer; and more.
