On Sunday, November 20, the Broadway production of Teresa Rebeck’s Seminar opened at the Golden Theatre with Sam Gold at the helm.
Opening night guests included Kim Cattrall, Christine Ebersole, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Megan Hilty, Dee Hoty, Raza Jeffrey, Denis Leary, Judith Light, Debra Messing, Justin Mikita, Rebecca Romijn, and Johnny Weir.
The comedy centers on four young writers who are participating in a private seminar taught by the brilliant but unpredictable Leonard, an international literary legend. But as Leonard deems some students more promising than others, tensions arise, sex is used as a weapon, and alliances are made and broken.
Alan Rickman stars as Leonard, with his students played by Hamish Linklater, Jerry O’Connell, Hettiene Park, and Lily Rabe.
