Corbin Bleu to Replace Hunter Parrish as Jesus in Broadway’s Godspell

Stage and screen star Corbin Bleu will take over the lead role of Jesus in the Broadway revival of Godspell, at the Circle in the Square Theatre, beginning Tuesday, April 17. He replaces Hunter Parrish, who will play his final performance on April 15 prior to returning to Los Angeles where he begins filming the eight season of Showtime’s Weeds.

Bleu is best known for his role as Chad Danforth in Disney’s High School Musical film and television projects. He made his Broadway debut in 2010 when he took over the lead role of Usnavi in In the Heights. As a recording artist, his albums include Another Side and Speed of Light.

Featuring music and new lyrics by composer Stephen Schwartz and original concept and direction by John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell is directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli.

The cast also features Wallace Smith as Judas, along with Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, Lindsay Mendez, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, and George Salazar.
