Two-time Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel will play the title role in American Repertory Theater’s Prometheus Bound, to run February 25 – April 2 at Oberon. Diane Paulus will direct the production.

With book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Serj Tankian, the show is based on Aeschylus’ tragedy about the suffering of Western civilization’s first prisoner of conscience. Additional casting will be announced in the near future.

Creel received Tony Award nominations for his performances in Hair and Thoroughly Modern Millie. His other credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Bounce and Mary Poppins. As a recording artist, he has released the solo CD Goodtimenation and most recently, the EP Quiet.
