Toronto International Film Festival Announces Full Slate logo

The complete lineup for the Toronto Film Festival, which will run September 8-18, has been announced.

Among the new films on the Festival schedule is Page Eight, which will be the closing night film for the event. Written and directed by David Hare, the movie centers on a long-serving M15 officer, coping with the sudden death of his boss and best friend. The film stars Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon, Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes, and Judy Davis.

Other new entries on the Festival galas slate are Nick Murphy's The Awakening, which stars Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton; Tanya Wexler's Hysteria, which features Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett and Felicity Jones; Gary McKendry's Killer Elite, which stars Robert De Niro; Joel Schumacher's Trespass, with Nicholas Cage and Nicole Kidman; and Darrell J. Roodt's portrait of Winnie Mandela, Winnie, starring Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard.

Movies that will be offered as special presentations include Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Intruders, which stars Clive Owen; Anne Fontaine's My Worst Nightmare, with Isabelle Huppert; and Geoffrey Fletcher's Violet & Daisy, which has a cast that includes James Gandolfini.

As previously reported, the Festival will also include such films as The Ides of March, George Clooney's film version of Beau Willimon's play Farragut North, David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, based on Christopher Hampton's play about the relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud; and Ralph Fiennes' film version of Shakespeare's Coriolanus.
