Mosaic Theatre Announces 2008-2009 Season

The Mosaic Theatre in Plantation has announced its 2008-2009 season with five plays, including two Florida premieres and two Southeastern premieres.

The season will open with the Florida premiere of Radio Golf by August Wilson, September 11-October 5, the conclusion to Wilson’s ten-play cycle chronicling African American life during the twentieth century. The Southeastern premiere of Conor McPherson’s The Seafarer will follow, November 20-December 14, where Sharky, who has returned home to look after his aging brother who’s recently gone blind, finds himself playing a card game for his very soul.

The season with continue with A Life in the Theater, February 26-March 22, David Mamet’s exploration of two actors who are seen performing, rehearsing, discussing and arguing over their work. In Darfur, by Winter Miller, will make its Southeastern premiere, April 16-May 3, after receiving a workshop production at the Public Theatre in New York, and the season will close with the Florida premiere of in a Dark, Dark House by Neil LaBute, May 28-June 21. On the grounds of a private psychiatric facility, two brothers confront each other about a legacy of abuse, both inside and outside their family home.
