Jane Comfort and Company

Jane Comfort and Company has begun development of a new dance work in collaboration with sound designer Brandon Wolcott and lighting designer Joe Levasseur. In a radical departure from her career history of narrative dance theater works, this piece will have no narrative, no text, no story. It will also eschew the notion of sound and lighting design as décor for dance, and establish the three designers as equal collaborators; any one of them can lead a scene, to the point that only light and sound may occur onstage at some moment, and no movement.
