Gorilla Repertory Theatre Company presents Washington Square Dreams, short plays inspired by the company’s annual staging of Shakespeare’s most famous comedy (running in repertory with Story of an Unknown Man). Eight ten-minute plays are built around Gorilla Rep’s summer tradition of staging A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Washington Square Park. Ranging from comic to poignant, the plays will be performed in classic Gorilla Rep style at a fast and furious pace — giving the audience an opportunity for an eclectic and powerful evening of theater that barely gives them a chance to catch their breath. Plays include:
Prepost’rously Befallen or Ass-Backwards in Washington Square by Joe Lauinger, directed by Matt Freeman
Throw of the Moon by Jeni Mahoney and Ben Sahl, directed by Missy Somers
Faerie Tale by Arlene Hutton, directed by Missy Somers
American Eyes by Jeni Mahoney, directed by Matt Freeman
