United States: Railways and Firework is the second show in Singularity’s United States series. The first one-act centers on a veteran New York City subway worker approaching retirement on the eve of the threatened 1999 transit strike. The second piece chronicles the life of Lt. Brenda Berkman of the FDNY, a key figure in the long battle that gave women the right to fight fire in the City of New York.
