About the Show

After being given the run-around by various companies owning the rights to Kurt Weill’s fascist opera, The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, directors P. William Pinto and Jovier Q. Sanchez’s dreams went up in smoke. Not to be discouraged, the directors opted for another route of travel: use the same cast for a musical. After many weeks of waiting for another set of performance rights, the directors decided rather than put on a preexisting show, document the painful and gorgeous process through song and dance. With stories in the actors own words and performances both iconic and ironic, The Little Show That Couldn’t proves that music culled from EVERY theatrical genre can indeed make a memorable celebration.
