About This Show

This new translation and adaptation of Orestia is set in a modern day court room where Orestes defends himself for the murder of his mother, Clytemnestra, in front of the goddess Athena. To justify his brutal action, Orestes argues that, under the advisment of Apollo, he was merely avenging the murder of his father. Incorporating the classic Greek stories of Iphigenia, Electra, and others, this production explores an escalating cycle of violence and vengence and the need to end the bloodshed.
