About This Show

Musicals Tonight! continues its series of revivals with Irving Berlin and Moss Hart’s Face the Music. Broadway producer Hal Reisman is trying to find backers for his next show during the Great Depression. In an attempt to lose their dirty money and stay out of jail, some crooked cops invest in Rhinestones of 1932–a guaranteed disaster. When racy material is added, the show becomes a sudden smash and the Vice Commission tries to shut the show down. Songs include “Let’s Have Another Cup of Coffee,” “I Say It’s Spinach,” and “Manhattan Madness.”
