Strindberg wrote A Dreamplay in 1901. Now, in 2000, Dream Play is born, rising out of the ashes of Strindberg’s fiery work. It is a dreamplay of tragic dimension with fantastical elements and grotesque/buffonesque parts to put in relief the absurdity of life. Silence, sound, spoken word, movement, structures, space, and lighting create stunning aural and visual imagery in this blend of memories, experiences, spontaneous ideas, free fancies, and absurdities. This production is part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
