American Playwrights Theatre Dissonant Doubles: An Evening of Short Plays Celebrating Women’s History Month involves five shorts examining the female side of human relationships.

Plays include:
Sincerity – written and directed by Mario Fratti; an aggressive woman and a shy man begin to plainly and honestly negotiate the tricky questions of their relationship
Places We’ve Lived – written by Milan Stitt; directed by Richard Harden; on the anniversary of a marriage long since ended, a wistful suburbanite stands in front of the apartment that she and her ex-husband once shared, and finds closure when her ex unexpectedly arrives
Champagne and Caviar – writen and directed by Frances Galton; conflict arrives when a women taking care of her elderly mother is visited by her successful brother
Mimi & Me – written by Kitty Dubin, directed by Andrea Andresakis; a college student volunteering at a nursing home clashes with one of the patients until they discover that they have more in common than they thought
Star Collector – written by Sally Carpenter, directed by Jeff Davolt; a middle aged woman sneaks into the hotel room of her favorite singer, who is now an aging washed-up has-been.

Saturday, March 16 is a benefit performance for American Playwrights Theatre. Tickets are $40.
