Jean Cocteau Repertory continues its 34th Season as one of the nation’s only permanent resident repertory companies with George Bernard Shaw’s classic Pygmalion, directed by Rose Burnett Bonczek.
A brilliantly witty comedy-romance about the British class system at the turn of the last century, this is the story of Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl, who is taught to pass for a duchess by phonetics professor Henry Higgins. Along the way, she teaches him about feminism, empowerment and love. One of Shaw’s best loved plays, it is the source for the irresistible musical, My Fair Lady.
