CocoaDios transports audiences into a world where deities of blood and chocolate lord over human sacrifice and the dance floor. Audiences are immersed and adorned in chocolate, participate in rituals and consume the “food of the gods” as singers and dancers heat up the stage and aerialists set the heavens on fire.
CocoaDios tells the story of feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl’s battle with bloodthirsty sun god Nanahuatl, war god Tetzcatlpoca and romance with fertility goddess Xochiquetzal in his quest to bring cacao and civilization to earth. Told through transported Mesoamerican rituals, music, song and dance, this erotic high-energy show surrounds audiences with the scent, taste, touch, power and passion of chocolate. With an original score that blends ancient ceremonial Nahuatl rhythms with contemporary rock, electronic and regional Mexican music, performed by gods and goddesses of every chocolate hue, CocoaDios feeds all the senses.
