The wildly dancing beams of color and shape of The Joshua Light Show will provide a spectacular jumping off point for exploring the nature of light and how we interact with it. Following the light show, travel through time with Carter Emmart, Director of Astrovisualization at the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium as he races along with a photon–a particle of light — as it speeds from the edge of the Universe to the back of your eye. Then join neuroscientist Joy Hirsch, co-curator of the Museum’s current exhibition, Brain: The Inside Story, as she follows light’s journey through your eye to the cascade of activity it generates in your brain. Kids and families are invited to examine light at the speed of thought.
