7th Inning Stretch: All-Star Edition

Mile Square Theatre’s production of its annual fundraiser 7th Inning Stretch: All-Star Edition features a selection of seven 10-minute plays from some of America’s finest, award-winning playwrights. They were specially selected from over 30 baseball plays that have been commissioned by Mile Square Theatre over the last 5 years.

And now…The Starting Lineup:

Fantasy League by Lee Blessing- Ever wonder how your team would do, if you could put all the best players together on one team? One man does much to the chagrin of his wife who has another type of fantasy league in mind.

Foul Territory by Craig Wright- Getting whacked by a baseball may not be your idea of fun, but in this hilarious comedy, as it’s all part of what life throws at us.

Love of the Game by Warren Leight- An aggressive, fastball-throwing major leaguer reluctantly pitches the idea of non-violence to his son.

Striking Out the Babe by Charlie Peters- Pitching for the Cubs in the 1932 World Series isn’t easy, but at least you have diehard fans. Or do you? Watch what happens when two promises to save a dying child collide.

Asphalt Green by Rogelio Martinez- God may have created baseball and its holy "3 strikes you’re out" trilogy, but He sure didn’t create enough space for the game in the city – or did He?

The Save by Dano Madden- Baseball is just a game, right? For one lost soul who was ready to strike out, it became a whole lot more than that.

A Little Chatter by Ellen Margolis-At this Hoboken Little League game, the first base coach has faced lots of coaching challenges, but none like figuring out how to get this one mother’s heart into the game.
