Belmonte and his servant Pedrillo set out to rescue their lovers, Konstanze and Blonde, who are held hostage on a train bound from Istanbul to Paris. Mozart’s comic genius shines throughout this vaudeville from the Age of the Enlightenment, last seen on The Minnesota Opera stage in 1979.
