The FineLine Theatre Arts Spring Performance 2007

About the Show

Tony Award winner Scott Wise and Tony Award nominee Elizabeth Parkinson, owners of FineLine Theatre Arts, present the Spring Performance 2007, the school’s first full production dance show since its inception. The headline segment, a George Gershwin inspired ballet produced by Wise and American Ballet Theatre’s Arlene Begelman, is entitled “Americans in Paris.” This chronicles the very Parisian adventures of three American girls who fall in love, get lost, join in the Moulin Rouge Can-Can and involve themselves completely in the Parisian lifestyle. The three young Americans are portrayed by Tiffany Billings and Elizabeth Cox of New Milford and Jillian Marchenko of Watertown. Begelman, who also serves as Director the school’s Pre-Professional Division, has fashioned two additional pieces: “Beginnings,” choreographed to Gould variations by Bach for Sherman dancers Shea & Campbell Coughlin and Mackenzie & Lucy Burns, and “Fever,” a contemporary piece created for dancer Marissa Quimby.

Other pieces include works by TDF/Astaire Award winner and Tony Award nominee Elizabeth Parkinson, Twyla Tharpe Alumnus Barbara Braverman, The American Ballet Theatre’s Robert Maiorano and Broadway star Mary Anne Lamb.
