The Body Project Ensemble in partnership with Voice of the City presents a devised interview-based project focusing on women’s stories of survival and hope.
The stories recounted by our interviewees chronicle personal experiences with genocide and political unrest, as well as medical issues, personal loss, substance abuse, and near death experiences. It is in times of crisis that we can look to our community, our neighbors, the strangers we see walking down the street, to help us connect and bond together to find peace and positive change in our future. It is in a time like now that we are fortunate enough to be able to share these women’s stories with one another, allowing us the freedom to let go of anger and despair, and embrace the healing power we all possess. Our piece honors the voices of brave and powerful women.
