Lauren Kennedy will star in the title role of Sweet Charity, in a gala concert event at Gulfshore Playhouse.
The musical — featuring a book by Neil Simon and score by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields — follows the indomitable romantic Charity Hope Valentine, as she searches for love in all the wrong places. Songs include “Hey, Big Spender,” “There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This” and “If My Friends Could See Me Now.”
The concert version, replete with Fosse-style dancing, will also feature Alan Campbell as Oscar and Franc D’Ambrosio as Vittorio, as well as HeidiMarie Ferren and Summer Broyhill as The Fandango Girls.
