About This Show

Stories on Stage’s The Ties That Bind delivers a humorous package of family oriented stories by some of American’s most beloved authors, read by some of America’s favorite personalities. El Bronx Remembered by Nicholasa Mohr, read by Elsie Escobar, Chip Off the Old Block by Wallace Stegner, read by Ed Asner, and First Confession by Frank O’Connor, read by Malachy McCourt, offer delightfully comic takes on family relationships. The fourth story, Did My Mama Like to Dance? by Shay Youngblood, read by Hattie Winston, is the touching story of a child who never knew her mother, but has grown up in the loving arms of her grandmother.
