About This Show

The Shaw Festival is proud to present Time and the Conways, written by J.B. Priestley. The Conways live behind the laurel bushes in houses with names like Everdene and The Cedars. These houses were owned by minor professionals and between the wars they were reduced to coping with what they called “a girl of all work.” This is both a story about a family and an exploration of a theory of time. We see the results of small, unthinking actions and then we backtrack in time, almost as if we could go back to put things right.
