About the Show

Longtime A.C.T. collaborator Giles Havergal returns to San Francisco in an acclaimed one-man staging of the classic Thomas Mann novella. When an older writer arrives in 1911 Venice, he finds himself powerfully, perhaps tragically, drawn to a beautiful youth. Death in Venice is a magnificent examination of the nature of beauty and the limitless capacity of the spirit. The New York Post called Havergal’s production “Brilliant! An exciting version, masterfully performed,” while the New York Times says the play “will be with you long after you step outside.”

No matinee performance Saturday, September 9.
