A First Look at Lynn Nottage's Mlima's Tale
The Public Theater has released a video from its production of Lynn Nottage's Mlima's Tale, opening April 15 under the direction of Jo Bonney. Check it out below.
Ito Aghayere, Jojo Gonzalez, Kevin Mambo, and Sahr Ngaujah star in the production. The creative team includes Riccardo Hernández (scenic design), Jennifer Moeller (costume design), Lap Chi Chu (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design), Justin Hicks (original music), and Chris Walker (movement direction).
Mlima's Tale is described as "the story of Mlima, a magnificent elephant trapped in the clandestine international ivory market. Following a trail of greed and desire as old as trade itself, Mlima leads us through memory and fear, history and tradition, and want and need."
