Vineyard Theatre Hosts Diary 21 Benefit on May 11

| New York City |

April 9, 2009

The Vineyard Theatre has teamed up with Young Playwrights Inc. and The Anne Frank Center USA for Diary 21: Are We Writing Loud Enough?, a new Arts-In-Education initiative designed to inspire the next generation of artists. The theater will host a benefit performance featuring selections from new plays written and performed by students of Washington Irving High School and Lab School for Collaborative Studies, on Monday, May 11 at 7:00 pm.

The initiative is designed to teach students literacy and tolerance through the arts, using Anne Frank’s diary and legacy to inspire New York City students to write about tolerance. The selected works, created under the auspices of the program, reflect current responses and attitudes towards worldwide injustice and prejudice.
