Downtown theatre company The Talking Band will collaborate with illusionist Peter Samelson in Radnevsky’s Real Magic, to be presented at La MaMa E.T.C., October 9-25, with an opening set for October 11.
The work follows the comeback of a legendary underground magician, and features text, story, and direction by Paul Zimet, with original magic by Samelson, original music by Ellen Maddow, and additional magic by Dennis Kyriakos, Imam and Jim Steinmeier.
Samelson will star as The Great Radnevsky, with the cast also including Kyriakos and Luke Gopnik. The production will feature set design by Anna Kiraly, lighting design by Nan Zhang, and costume design by Kiki Smith.
