Alliance Theatre has announced the lineup of productions set for its 2023-24 season.

Among the featured productions will be a collaboration between Alliance Theatre and the Atlanta Opera to produce an operatic adaptation of Stephen King’s 1977 horror novel The Shining (September 15-October 1). The music is composed by Paul Moravec with a libretto Mark Campbell .

The season will also include Brendan Pelsue’s world-premiere adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities (February 21-March 17, 2024), followed by the world-premiere musical The Preacher’s Wife (May 11-June 9, 2024). Inspired by the 1996 blockbuster film (and the properties from which it is adapted), The Preacher’s Wife features a book by Tituss Burgess and Azie Dungey, and a gospel-infused score by Burgess.
