Jay Karnes, who plays L.A.P.D. Detective Holland “Dutch” Wagenbach on the FX drama The Shield, will star as Brutus in Marin Shakespeare Company’s outdoor summer production of Julius Caesar, to play the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre in San Rafael, California, August 29-September 27.
The play — which explores loyalty and ambition, politics and personality — contains some of Shakespeare’s most memorable orations. The cast will also include Barry Kraft in the title role and William Elsman as Mark Antony.
Karnes was a company member with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the mid-1990s, playing major roles in productions including Love’s Labours Lost and Arcadia. He also played the recurring role of ATF Agent Josh Kohn on FX Network’s Sons of Anarchy. His films include The Joyriders and The Next Best Thing.
