The Ride, a theatrical experience that audiences experience from a moving tour bus in midtown Manhattan, will return to New York City on April 21 for preview performances ahead of an official opening on April 28. It is being billed as a revival.

The original run of The Ride lasted for 12 years and over 30,000 performances before coming to the end of the line last October. In 2013, the special edition bus designed by artist Charles Fazzino was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, ultimately losing the category to Cirque du Soleil’s Totem.

“We had no idea there would be such an outpouring of support when THE RIDE announced it was closing back in October 2022,” explains new owner, Mark Fayer, in a press statement. “Fans from all over the world who had seen the show multiple times wrote to say they’d wanted to come back, to bring the kids, and so on. It was wonderful. So here we are! We have updated the script and the tech, we were able to hire back most of the hosts, performers, and technicians – which was fantastic – and we’re currently in rehearsals. I’ve no doubt we’re coming back bigger and better than ever.”
