Roundabout Theatre Company's new revival of the musical The Robber Bridegroom is currently in previews at the Laura Pels Theatre. Directed by Alex Timbers, the show opens March 13.
Leading the company of the Alfred Uhry-Robert Waldman musical are Steven Pasquale (The Bridges of Madison County) as Jamie Lockhart, Ahna O'Reilly (The Help) as Rosamund, Leslie Kritzer (Gigantic) as Salome, Greg Hildreth (Peter and the Starcatcher) as Goat, Andrew Durand (Gigantic) as Little Harp, Evan Harrington (Avenue Q) as Big Harp, Lance Roberts (Shows for Days) as Clement Musgrove, Nadia Quinn (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) as Raven/Goat's Mother, and Devere Rogers (Five Guys Named Moe) as Airie/Man.
Based on the short story by Eudora Welty, The Robber Bridegroom takes place at the Natchez Trace in Mississippi. It follows Jamie Lockhart, fair-faced gentleman by day, hardhearted bandit of the woods by night, as his world is turned upside down after he falls for the beautiful daughter of a wealthy planter.
