Steffanie Leigh Joins Claybourne Elder in New Passion Music Video

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical will by presented by Arlington’s Signature Theatre.

A new music video has been released to promote Signature Theatre's upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Passion. In it, stars Claybourne Elder and Steffanie Leigh sing the emotional ballad "Happiness" backed by a live orchestra. The release follows a video of Elder singing opposite the show's third star, Natascia Diaz.

Directed by Matthew Gardiner, Passion will run August 14-September 23 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. Set in 1860s Italy, the musical follows a live triangle ignited when Giorgio, a handsome army captain, is transferred to a remote military outpost and into the blinding infatuation of Fosca, the ailing cousin of his superior. Fosca's fervent longing draws him in as it threatens to upend his career in an exhilarating tangle of obsession, desire, and madness.

Natascia Diaz, Claybourne Elder, and Steffanie Leigh star in the musical, alongside Will Gartshore as Colonel Ricci, Rayanne Gonzales as Mother, Gregory Maheu as Ludovic and Lombardi, Ian McEuen as Lieutenant Torasso, Christopher Mueller as Augenti, Katie Mariko Murray as Mistress, Lawrence Redmond as Lieutenant Barri, Bobby Smith as Major Rizzoli and Fosca's Father, and John Leslie Wolfe as Dr. Tambourri.
