Robert Fairchild, Joel Grey, Leanne Cope, and Tony Yazbeck Receive 2015 Astaire Awards

New York’s dancers were honored during the 33rd annual ceremony.

The Astaire Awards, New York's annual celebration of dance, were presented on June 1 at the Skirball center. On the Town and An American in Paris came up the big winners, tying in the categories of Best Choreographer (Joshua Bergasse and Christopher Wheeldon) and Best Male Dancer (Tony Yazbeck and Robert Fairchild). Leanne Cope, Fairchild's American in Paris leading lady, received the Best Female Dancer honor. Additionally, the ceremony honored Tony and Oscar winner Joel Grey with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
