Carole King and Maurice Sendak’s musical, directed by Leigh Silverman, continues through August 5.
The Encores! Off-Center production of Maurice Sendak and Carole King's Really Rosie opened last night at New York City Center for its limited run through August 5, and TheaterMania was on hand for the cast party after the show.
The cast features Taylor Caldwell (School of Rock) alongside Swayam Bhatia, Kenneth Cabral, Ayodele Casel, Jaiya Chetram, Eduardo Hernandez, Nanyellin Liriano, Chris Lopes, Zell Steele Morrow, Charlie Pollock, Ruth Righi, Anthony Rosenthal, and Nicole Wildy.
The production is directed by Leigh Silverman, with music direction by Carmel Dean and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, and choreography by Ayodele Casel.
Really Rosie is a family-friendly musical for the dreamer in all of us, inspired in part by the stories in Sendak's Nutshell Library. It features songs by King, including "Pierre," "Alligators All Around," and "Chicken Soup With Rice."
