Celebrate Halloween with singer Remember Jones and Kelly’s classic music saga.
The Strand Center for the Arts in New Jersey will present a live production of R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet on Halloween night. The show, which begins at 8pm, will feature a 20-piece orchestra.
Written and produced by pop and R&B sensation Kelly, Trapped in the Closet tells a story of a one-night-stand which sets off a chain of events, gradually revealing a greater web of lies, sex, and deceit. It has spawned record and DVD releases, Internet success, and countless pop-culture parodies.
The show will star singer Remember Jones, who, with his fellow cast members, will present the first 12 chapters of Kelly's saga. Immediately following, the Strand Theater will celebrate Halloween with a costume contest and dance party.
The Trapped in the Closet saga began in 2005, when the first five chapters were released on Kelly's album, TP.3 Reloaded. Kelly performed a new chapter at the VMAs that year which was followed by a DVD release of the first 12 chapters. In December 2007, all the chapters were released on one DVD. The series has developed a cult following, spawning Rocky Horror-style sing-along screenings.
