On Thursday, April 19, the Broadway production of Bruce Norris’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Clybourne Park, opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre with direction by Pam MacKinnon.
Opening night guests included Pulitzer Prize winners Edward Albee, Quiara Alegría Hudes, Tom Kitt and Marsha Norman along with Bob Balaban, Bobby Cannavale, Jake Cannavale, Kathryn Erbe, Edie Falco, Ben Feldman, Moisés Kaufman, Arian Moayed, Martha Plimpton, Roger Rees, Daryl Roth, Salman Rushdie, Lois Smith, Paul Sparks, Elaine Stritch, Concetta Tomei Tamara Tunie, Pauletta Washington, and George C. Wolfe.
The show examines how a Chicago neighborhood changes over the course of 50 years. The Broadway production features the entire original cast from the play’s Off-Broadway premiere at Playwrights Horizons: Crystal A. Dickinson, Brendan Griffin, Damon Gupton, Christina Kirk, Annie Parisse, Jeremy Shamos and Frank Wood.
