Noah Blake to Star in New Immersive Murder Mystery at Vitello’s, a Venue Central to Father Robert Blake’s History

Actor and director Noah Blake will direct and star in A Killer Night in Studio City, a theatrical murder mystery set to premiere this fall at the restaurant Vitello’s in Studio City, California.

Set in Hollywood in 1958, the production centers on a memorial dinner for a young film star whose death brings together a group of characters with competing interests and concealed histories. The evening gradually develops into a murder investigation in which audience members may participate directly by questioning characters, solving puzzles, deciphering clues, and following interactions throughout the restaurant.

The production combines a scripted comedic play with immersive theatrical elements, live performances of 1950s music, and a multi-course dinner prepared by Vitello’s. Audience members may experience the production primarily as spectators or take a more active role in attempting to solve the mystery. Kevin Jackson and Kristine Dickson are co-creators and producers.

The choice of venue carries particular significance for Blake. His father, actor Robert Blake, was a longtime patron of Vitello’s, which subsequently became associated with the 2001 murder of Robert Blake’s second wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, following a dinner at the restaurant. Robert Blake was later charged with Bakley’s murder and acquitted in 2005; he was subsequently found liable for her death in a civil proceeding.

Noah Blake’s acting credits include Teen Witch, The Wonder Years, Harry and the Hendersons, Mystery Men, and numerous other film and television productions.

A Killer Night in Studio City will preview on September 6 and 8, with a full run currently scheduled through Halloween.
