Casting has been announced for South Ark Stage’s revival of Jonathan Marc Sherman’s Sophistry, to play the Samuel Beckett Theatre, April 22-June 6, with an opening set for May 5. James Warwick will direct.
The play is about a group of students at a small New England college whose lives are disrupted when Philosophy professor Whitey McCoy is accused of seducing a male student, Jack Kahn. Both Whitey and Jack tell the story, each from their conflicting memories, leaving everybody in doubt as to what is true.
The cast will include Michael Carbonaro as Jack and Jonathan Hogan as Whitey, with Ian Alda, Ellen Dolan, Charlie Hewson, Mahira Kakkar, Natalie Knepp, and Maximilian Osinski.
The creative team will include Charles Corcoran (set), Melissa Schlachtmeyer (costumes), DM Wood (lighting), and Graham Johnson (sound).
