Signature Theatre has announced the creative team for its production of Will Eno's solo play Thom Pain (Based on Nothing), starring Michael C. Hall and directed by Oliver Butler. It will run October 23-November 25 on the Irene Diamond Stage, with opening night set for November 11.

The creative team will include Amy Rubin (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Jen Schriever (lighting design), and Lee Kinney (sound design), with Charles M. Turner III the production stage manager and casting by Caparelliotis Casting.

Thom Pain is described as a "surreal and very real one-man show [that] follows Thom Pain as he desperately, and hilariously, tries to save his own life…or at least make it into something worth dying for."

Onstage, Hall most recently starred as Thomas Newton in the London and New York Theatre Workshop productions of Lazarus by David Bowie and Enda Walsh. He previously portrayed the title character in the Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and starred in Will Eno's Broadway production of The Realistic Joneses. On television, Hall is best known for his roles as Dexter Morgan in the Showtime series Dexter (five Emmy nominations) and David Fisher in the HBO drama series Six Feet Under.
