Three-time Academy Award winner and 19-time Academy Award nominee Meryl Streep will appear at a special benefit cabaret for Theatre Workshop of Nantucket on Saturday, July 30, at the Nantucket Hotel and Resort.

A celebration of TWN's 60 years of performing on the island, the event, titled On With the Show – 60th Anniversary Cabaret, will feature theater songs and stories starring Streep, John Shea (TWN’s artistic director emeritus), and actor and director Joe Grifasi, who will re-create the cabaret group they formed while classmates at Yale.

After receiving her MFA with honors from Yale University in 1975, Streep began her professional career on the New York stage in Broadway productions of Trelawny of the "Wells", A Memory of Two Mondays/27 Wagons Full of Cotton (Tony nomination), Secret Service, The Cherry Orchard, and Happy End. She went on to earn Academy Awards for her performances in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), Sophie's Choice (1982), and The Iron Lady (2011). Her most recent Oscar nominations were for the stage-to-screen adaptations of August: Osage County (2013) and Into the Woods (2014).
