Melba Moore and Marianne Tatum have been added to the lineup for Theatre Resources Unlimited’s annual TRU Love Benefit, entitled Connections: Bringing People Together to Create and Experience the Arts. The event will take place at Caroline’s on Broadway, on Sunday, November 6 at Noon.
The benefit was created to honor those who have lent standout service to the theatrical community. As previously reported, this year’s award recipients are producer Bruce Lazarus; Ben Cameron and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation; and Lou Rodgers of Golden Fleece Limited.
Hosted by comedy twins The Stone Brothers, the benefit will also feature performances from Alison Marie Bryant, Lawrence Clayton, Liz Larsen, Orfeh, Lee August Praley, and Darren Ritchie. In addition, Jana Robbins will help pay tribute to TRU advisory board member, the late Randall Wreghitt.
Proceeds will directly benefit the programs of TRU, a not-for-profit service organization that provides, among other services, monthly panels, workshops, a Producer Development and Mentorship Program, a new plays and new musicals reading series and a community e-newsletter of jobs, services, resources and theater events.
