Meet the Stars of Todd Almond and Jenny Schwartz's New Musical Play Iowa

The cast of Todd Almond and Jenny Schwartz's new musical play Iowa met the press at Playwrights Horizons on February 20. Ken Rus Schmoll directs the production, which will begin previews on March 20 with an opening-night set for April 13 at Playwrights Horizons’ Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

In Iowa, "Mom found her soul-mate on Facebook, and he lives in Iowa. So Becca says goodbye to her beloved math teacher, bulimic best friend, neighborhood pony, and her mildly deficient teenage life, and she follows her wayward mother to a new, uncharted beginning." The full cast of Iowa includes Cindy Cheung, April Matthis, Annie McNamara, Karyn Quackenbush, Carolina Sanchez, Lee Sellars, Jill Shackner, and Kolette Tetlow.

The production will feature scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Arnulfo Maldonado, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and sound design by Daniel Kluger. Musical direction will be by J. Oconer Navarro.
