La Jolla Playhouse's presentation of the multimedia, multisensory show Healing Wars begins tonight at the Mandell Weiss Forum.
The performance blends dance, storytelling, and multimedia as it explores the personal fallout of wars on the individuals who experience them.
Focused on soldiers and healers coping with physical and psychological wounds, it incorporates narratives from the American Civil War and a performance from a young Navy veteran. At the heart of it, the show asks how a nation can recover from a life of endless battles.
The show was conceived, directed, and choreographed by Liz Lerman.
Performances will run through October 25.
