The Broadway musical revival also stars Andy Karl, Mary Louise Wilson, Michael McGrath, and Mark Linn-Baker.
Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Gallagher, and the stars of Broadway's On the Twentieth Century, a Roundabout Theatre Company production at the American Airlines Theatre, met the press on January 29. Scott Ellis directs the Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and Cy Coleman musical, which begins performances February 12 and opens March 12.
The musical, which won 1978 Tony Awards for its book and score, follows bankrupt theater producer Oscar Jaffee (Gallagher), as he embarks on a madcap mission to cajole the glamorous Hollywood starlet Lily Garland (Chenoweth) into playing the lead in his new, nonexistent epic drama.
Joining Chenoweth and Gallagher are Andy Karl, Mark Linn-Baker, Tony winner Michael McGrath, and Tony winner Mary Louise Wilson.
The ensemble features Phillip Attmore, Justin Bowen, Preston Truman Boyd, Paula Leggett Chase, Ben Crawford, Rick Faugno, Jenifer Foote, Bahiyah Hibah, Drew King, Analisa Leaming, Kevin Ligon, Erica Mansfield, James Moye, Linda Mugleston, Mamie Parris, Andy Taylor, Jim Walton, and Richard Riaz Yoder.
Featured on the creative team are Warren Carlyle (choreography), David Rockwell (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), and Donald Holder (lighting design).
