John Pankow will replace the previously reported David Pittu in the Signature Theatre’s world premiere production of Medieval Play, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan. The play will be presented in The Irene Diamond Stage at the Company’s new Frank Gehry-designed home The Pershing Square Signature Center, May 15-June 24, with an opening on June 7.

In the play, two French mercenary knights set out on a quest for relative moral redemption against the classic comic background of late 14th century ecclesiastical politics.

The previously announced cast also features Anthony Arkin, Heather Burns, Tate Donovan, Halley Feiffer, Kevin Geer, Josh Hamilton, and C.J. Wilson.

The creative team will include Walt Spangler (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), David Van Tiegham (sound design) and J. David Brimmer (fight direction).
