Tony nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful — The Carole King Musical) and Farah Alvin (It Shoulda Been You) will star in a reading of the new musical Date of a Lifetime on Thursday, September 17.

Featuring music by Rob Baumgartner Jr. and a book and lyrics by Carl Kissin, Date of a Lifetime is described as follows: "Marvin and Katie have a fleeting encounter while speed dating. During their brief time together they each, in turn, imagine what their lives would be like if they allowed this momentary meeting to evolve to the next level. Their decisions may determine their entire future and whether this will turn out to be a date from hell, or the date of a lifetime."

Four-time Tony-winning director Jerry Zaks (Shows for Days) serves as a creative consultant for the show. Michael Alden, George DeMarco, Frank Evans, and Jack Lechner serve as producers.

Date of a Lifetime received the Excellence in Writing — Lyrics honor at the 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival.
